The **1996 Eurocard Open** was a men's [tennis](/source/Tennis) tournament played on indoor [carpet courts](/source/Carpet_court). It was the 1st edition of the [Stuttgart Masters](/source/Madrid_Open_(tennis))[b] and was part of the [Mercedes Super 9](/source/ATP_World_Tour_Masters_1000) of the [1996 ATP Tour](/source/1996_ATP_Tour). It took place at the [Schleyerhalle](/source/Schleyerhalle) in [Stuttgart](/source/Stuttgart), Germany from 21 October through 27 October 1996. Sixth-seeded [Boris Becker](/source/Boris_Becker) won the singles title.[3][4]
