The **1994 Davis Cup** (also known as the **1994 Davis Cup by [NEC](/source/NEC)** for sponsorship purposes) was the 83rd edition of the [Davis Cup](/source/Davis_Cup), the most important tournament between national teams in men's tennis. 109 teams would enter the competition, 16 in the World Group, 22 in the Americas Zone, 23 in the Asia/Oceania Zone, and 39 in the Europe/Africa Zone. [Belarus](/source/Belarus_Davis_Cup_team), [Brunei](/source/Brunei_Davis_Cup_team), [Georgia](/source/Georgia_Davis_Cup_team), [Lithuania](/source/Lithuania_Davis_Cup_team), [Oman](/source/Oman_Davis_Cup_team), [Slovakia](/source/Slovakia_Davis_Cup_team), [Sudan](/source/Sudan_Davis_Cup_team) and [Uzbekistan](/source/Uzbekistan_Davis_Cup_team) made their first appearances in the tournament.

[Sweden](/source/Sweden_Davis_Cup_team) defeated [Russia](/source/Russia_Davis_Cup_team) in the final, held at the [Olympic Stadium](/source/Olympic_Stadium_(Moscow)) in Moscow, Russia, on 2–4 December, to win their 5th title overall.[1][2]
