The **1992 PGA Championship** was the 74th [PGA Championship](/source/PGA_Championship), held August 13–16 at [Bellerive Country Club](/source/Bellerive_Country_Club) in [Town and Country, Missouri](/source/Town_and_Country%2C_Missouri), a suburb west of [St. Louis](/source/St._Louis%2C_Missouri). [Nick Price](/source/Nick_Price) won the first of his three [major championships](/source/Men's_major_golf_championships), three strokes ahead of runners-up [John Cook](/source/John_Cook_(golfer)), [Nick Faldo](/source/Nick_Faldo), [Jim Gallagher Jr.](/source/Jim_Gallagher_Jr.), and [Gene Sauers](/source/Gene_Sauers).[2][3] The previous year, after the birth of his first child, Price withdrew from the [1991 PGA Championship](/source/1991_PGA_Championship), which allowed [John Daly](/source/John_Daly_(golfer)) to enter and win.

This was the second major championship at Bellerive, which hosted the [U.S. Open](/source/U.S._Open_(golf)) in [1965](/source/1965_U.S._Open_(golf));[4] the PGA Championship returned in [2018](/source/2018_PGA_Championship).
