The **1989 Bandy World Championship** was the 16th edition of the tournament and was contested by five men's [bandy](/source/Bandy)-playing nations. It was held in the [Soviet Union](/source/Soviet_Union) from 29 January to 5 February 1989. This was the first ever indoor championships, with most matches played at the [Olympic Stadium](/source/Olympic_Stadium_(Moscow)) in [Moscow](/source/Moscow), except for two matches held in [Krasnogorsk](/source/Krasnogorsk%2C_Moscow_Oblast). The [Soviet Union](/source/Soviet_Union_national_bandy_team) emerged as the champion.[1]
