International football competition

The **1986 Asian Club Championship** was the 6th edition of the annual Asian club football competition hosted by [Asian Football Confederation](/source/Asian_Football_Confederation). Several Asian clubs started the qualifying round in Fall of 1986. The final round was held in [Riyadh](/source/Riyadh), [Saudi Arabia](/source/Saudi_Arabia) in December 1986.

[Furukawa Electric](/source/JEF_United_Chiba) defeated [Al Hilal](/source/Al_Hilal_SFC) in the final to become the first Japanese club to win the Asian Club Championship.

Defending champions [Daewoo Royals](/source/Daewoo_Royals) were unable to defend their title as they finished third in the [1985 K League](/source/1985_K_League).
