It was played at the [La Quinta Resort and Club](/source/La_Quinta_Resort_and_Club) in [La Quinta, California](/source/La_Quinta%2C_California), in the [United States](/source/United_States), from February 18 through February 25, 1985. Unseeded [Larry Stefanki](/source/Larry_Stefanki), who entered the main draw on a wildcard, won the singles title.[3]
