* March 3 – CF-CUN, a [de Havilland DH-106 Comet 1A](/source/De_Havilland_Comet) of [CPAL](/source/Canadian_Pacific_Air_Lines) named ''Empress of Hawaii'', crashed during takeoff from [Karachi](/source/Karachi)'s [Mauripur RAF Station](/source/PAF_Base_Masroor) during its delivery flight at 03:35 at 30 m (98 feet) elevation, killing all 11 occupants. The plane was headed to [Singapore](/source/Singapore)'s [Seletar Airport](/source/Seletar_Airport) to be flown to [Sydney](/source/Sydney) for an inaugural flight to [Honolulu](/source/Honolulu) on April 28.
