It was held September 16–20 at the [Engineers Country Club](/source/Engineers_Country_Club) in [Roslyn Harbor, New York](/source/Roslyn_Harbor%2C_New_York), east of [New York City](/source/New_York_City) on [Long Island](/source/Long_Island) in [Nassau County](/source/Nassau_County%2C_New_York). The PGA Championship was not held in 1917 or 1918 due to [World War I](/source/World_War_I).
