==History==
The regiment was formed in the [Royal Corps of Transport](/source/Royal_Corps_of_Transport) in 1967 as '''151 (Greater London) Transport Regiment''', from three territorial transport regiments and consisted of one ambulance squadron, one tank-transporter squadron, one transport squadron, and a parachute sub-unit, [562 Parachute Squadron Royal Corps of Transport (Volunteers)](/source/562_Parachute_Squadron_Royal_Corps_of_Transport_(Volunteers)).<ref name=regiments>{{Cite web |url=http://www.regiments.org/regiments/uk/vols-tavr/corps/rlc151.htm |title=151 Transport Regiment (V) [UK] |access-date=2007-04-12 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20071010051135/http://www.regiments.org/regiments/uk/vols-tavr/corps/rlc151.htm |archive-date=2007-10-10 |url-status=dead}}</ref> The parachute squadron was redesignated as a general transport squadron in 1978.<ref name=regiments/> The regiment was transferred into the [Royal Logistic Corps](/source/Royal_Logistic_Corps) in 1993, and 215 Squadron was disbanded.<ref name=regiments/> In 1999, the independent 124 Petroleum Squadron was absorbed.<ref name=regiments/>
