2010 Canadian film awards ceremony

The **12th [Jutra Awards](/source/Jutra_Awards)** were held on March 28, 2010 to honour films made with the participation of the [Quebec film industry](/source/Cinema_of_Quebec) in 2009.[1] The nominees were announced on February 16.[2]

*[Through the Mist](/source/Through_the_Mist) (Dédé, à travers les brumes)*, a biopic about [Dédé Fortin](/source/D%C3%A9d%C3%A9_Fortin), lead the ceremony with ten nominations. It ended up winning four awards, including [Best Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Actor) for [Sébastien Ricard](/source/S%C3%A9bastien_Ricard) and [Best Original Music](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Original_Music) which was awarded posthumously to Fortin.

[Denis Villeneuve](/source/Denis_Villeneuve)'s *[Polytechnique](/source/Polytechnique_(film))* won the most awards of the night with five, including [Best Director](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Director) and [Best Supporting Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Supporting_Actor) for [Maxim Gaudette](/source/Maxim_Gaudette), but lost [Best Film](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Film) to [Xavier Dolan](/source/Xavier_Dolan)'s *[I Killed My Mother](/source/I_Killed_My_Mother) (J'ai tué ma mère)* who took home four awards, including [Best Screenplay](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Screenplay) and [Best Actress](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Actress) for [Anne Dorval](/source/Anne_Dorval). Dolan became the first person to be nominated for [Best Film](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Film), [Best Director](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Director), [Best Actor](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Actor) and [Best Screenplay](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Screenplay) for the same film.

*[1981](/source/1981_(film))* won two awards, including [Best Supporting Actress](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Supporting_Actress) for [Sandrine Bisson](/source/Sandrine_Bisson). *[The Master Key](/source/The_Master_Key_(2009_film)) (Grande Ourse: la clé des possibles)* received nine nominations, but ended up winning none. It tied the record set by *[Babine](/source/Babine_(film))* for most nominations without one for [Best Film](/source/Prix_Iris_for_Best_Film).
