The '''113th Infantry''' were an infantry regiment of the [British Indian Army](/source/British_Indian_Army). The regiment traces their origins to 1800, when they were raised as the 1st Battalion, 7th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry.

The regiment's first action was in Egypt during the [Battle of Alexandria](/source/Battle_of_Alexandria_(1801)) part of the [French Revolutionary Wars](/source/French_Revolutionary_Wars). They then took part in the [Battle of Khadki](/source/Battle_of_Khadki) in the [Third Anglo-Maratha War](/source/Third_Anglo-Maratha_War). They were then used in the [punitive expedition](/source/punitive_expedition) in the [Beni Boo Ali campaign](/source/Beni_Boo_Alli_(1821)_(Battle_honour)) in 1821, against the [pirates](/source/Pirate) in Eastern [Arabia](/source/Arabia) and the [Persian Gulf](/source/Persian_Gulf). They next took part in the [central Indian campaign](/source/Central_India_Campaign_(1858)) after the [Indian Rebellion of 1857](/source/Indian_Rebellion_of_1857). During [World War I](/source/World_War_I) they were attached to the [17th Indian Division](/source/17th_Indian_Division) for the [Mesopotamia Campaign](/source/Mesopotamia_Campaign). After World War I the Indian government reformed the army moving from single battalion regiments to multi battalion regiments.<ref>Sumner p.15</ref> In 1922, the 113th Infantry became the 10th (Training) Battalion [4th Bombay Grenadiers](/source/4th_Bombay_Grenadiers). After independence they were one of the regiments allocated to the [Indian Army](/source/Indian_Army).
