'''10 Tauri''' is a single<ref name=Rodriguez2015/> [star](/source/star) in the [zodiac](/source/zodiac) [constellation](/source/constellation) of [Taurus](/source/Taurus_(constellation)). It can be seen with the naked eye, having an [apparent visual magnitude](/source/apparent_visual_magnitude) of 4.29.<ref name=Cowley1967/> An annual [parallax shift](/source/stellar_parallax) of 71.62<ref name="van Leeuwen2007"/>&nbsp;[mas](/source/milliarcsecond) provides a distance estimate of 45.5&nbsp;[light year](/source/light_year)s. It is moving further from the Sun with a [radial velocity](/source/radial_velocity) of +28&nbsp;km/s<ref name=Nordstroem2014/> and has a relatively high [proper motion](/source/proper_motion).<ref name=Cowley1967/>

The star has a [stellar classification](/source/stellar_classification) of F9IV-V,<ref name=keenan1989/> indicating that it is an [F-type star](/source/F-type_star) between [main sequence](/source/main_sequence) and [subgiant](/source/subgiant).  Modles indicate that it is a subgiant,<ref name=dr3/> having exhausted its core hydrogen and evolved away from the main sequence. It is around 5.7<ref name=apj746_1_101/>&nbsp;billion years old with a rotation period of 17.6&nbsp;days.<ref name=aaa521_A12/> The star has 1.14 times the [mass of the Sun](/source/mass_of_the_Sun) and 1.6 times the [Sun's radius](/source/Sun's_radius). It is radiating three<ref name=apj746_1_101/> times the [Sun's luminosity](/source/Sun's_luminosity) from its [photosphere](/source/photosphere) at an [effective temperature](/source/effective_temperature) of 6,000&nbsp;K.<ref name="Soubiran2024"/>

A [debris disk](/source/debris_disk) has been identified orbiting 10 Tauri, based on [excess infrared radiation](/source/infrared_excess) detected by IRAS/ISO.<ref name=Greaves2006/>
